7pm - 8pm Christoph Grafe: People's Palaces: Distant Past, Distant Present via Zoom

Drawing on research that informed his 2014 book People's Palaces, Christoph Grafe considers the development of the post-war arts centre, a building type that was often tasked with representing ideas of national identity and the realization of a democratic society. Christoph will focus on the history of two particular projects, London's South Bank and the Kulturhus in Stockholm.
